Jason was born in England but completed his schooling at Beachwood High School in Durban, South Africa.
In 1985, Jason returned to the country of birth to play professional cricket.
He represented Gloucestershire CCC at u19, u25 and 2nd XV level during the period from 1984 to 1988.
In 1990, he returned to South Africa and worked in a family gaming corporation which introduced scratch card lotteries into South Africa and was part of a bid to operate South Africa’s national lottery. The company later became a shareholder in SAVGC, a pioneer in the small payout machine business in South Africa.
In 1995, Jason founded World Artists Limited and has developed the business for the past 15 years.
One of the most experienced agents in the business, Jason has represented some of the world's biggest names in the professional sport of rugby union. Jason is currently developing the business in Europe and is based in Bath, England.
Based in Cape Town, Anthony Johnson manages the World Artists business operations in South Africa.
Anthony was born in Cape Town and matriculated at Wynberg Boys High School in 1997. After school he studied at Exercise Teachers Academy and received a diploma in Personal Training and represented Western Province u18, u19 and u21 at Volleyball.
From 2002 to 2005, Anthony worked in the business of nutritional supplements. He progressed from being a sales executive for Biomax to starting his own business, Performax Sports Nutrition.
In January 2005, Anthony started working for TAU Sports and Media, a company producing sports related magazines. However it was in September of 2005, he made the switch to join World Artists.
In 2009, Anthony was appointed as manager of business in South Africa as Jason Smith moved to UK to develop and strengthen European contacts. In 2010 Anthony was appointed as the Managing Director of World Artists SA.
Anthony enjoys a great relationship with all the Provincial Unions and Super 15 franchises in South Africa and has further gained respect with many professional franchises and clubs, both in Europe and Australia.
Anthony is also an ambassador for the Brothers for Life campaign. The Brothers for Life campaign is an awareness campaign for HIV/Aids and for the prevention of abuse against women and children.
Dane joined World Artists in 2009 as the Client & Marketing Manager. Still a competitive player himself, the UCT 1st XV star represented the Emerging Springbok Sevens side in Kenya last year.
Attending one of South Africa's great historical schools, SACS, Dane enjoyed a great school rugby career - winning full colours for the sport in his final year.
Dane is currently completing his BCom degree through UNISA and has previous work experience with Fitness First in the United Kingdom and, financial firm, Betty Dickinson, in South Africa.
As Client Manager Dane is responsible for keeping players happy on a day-to-day basis and building strong connections between the clients and their respective sponsors. Working alongside Anthony, Dane is also responsible for keeping his ear to the ground and trying to attract the best talent to the World Artists roster.
Dane has already helped World Artists to establish beneficial connections with a number of leading brands in South Africa, including, Surf4 Cars, Jimmy Sauces, Vida E Café, Brothers for Life, Vitamin Water, Power Balance, Under Armour, RugbyTech, adidas, USN and Fossil.
Kyle joined World Artists in 2011 as Client & Media Manager, bringing with him valuable people skills and extensive media knowledge.
Kyle was born in Cape Town and matriculated at South African College High School (SACS), before attending the University of Cape Town (UCT), where he studied for a Bachelor of Business Science degree.
Kyle ensures that World Artists and its clients receive the best possible exposure in the media. He continues to develop the World Artists website (www.worldartists.co.za), where details and dvd highlights of our clients are displayed, enabling us to market our clients in a professional manner. He assists with client management, marketing and PR, building strong relationships with both clients and sponsors. Kyle is also responsible for scouting and attracting the best talent to World Artists.
Shaun joined the World Artists team in 2009 and has become an invaluable asset to both Anthony and the business. Anthony's younger brother, Shaun brings a number of skills to the team - including strong IT and computer skills, as well as marketing experience.
From organising the office contracts to ensuring the right delivery arrives at the right player on time, Shaun is an effective problem solver and an important cog in the impressive World Artists team.
